Picture Frame PC Part 1

This is part 1 of the picture frame PC. Inspired by a webcast I watch called hak5. I did things a little different than on that show so I hope it all works out ok. My idea is not at all better, it is just an adaptation based on the equipment I have available to me.

I am running the latest version of Backtrack Linux version 5. This a great distro of linux based on Ubuntu. It is full on Ubuntu but packaged with all the network security tools I want to play around with. Now I don’t have to individually download, install and configure each one of these tool into a standalone Ubuntu install.

In part 2 I want to show the installation process and how I plan on connecting to the desktop remotely. Part of it involves having Linux Automatically login. I know I know, that is the worst security measure thinkable. Look, the purpose of this is to show a working picture frame PC used for testing wireless networks and whatnot. I won’t really be storing personal data other than other peoples wireless network information….ooops did I just say that? Anyhow, the remote login will be password protected and the wireless connections will be encrypted. Just as long as I am not using a Bluetooth keyboard I should be golden.

The song used in this video is by: JeremiahSinkie_-_Remember_The_Name_(Run_Beat_Remix)_(Instrumental_Version)
